Honda Hornet 2.0 User Review

My name is Ridwan Ahmed. I am the proud owner of the Honda Hornet 2.0

Previously, I owned a Suzuki Gixxer 150 monotone. Design-wise, I find the Honda Hornet 2.0 very stylish and attractive. The golden-colored upside-down suspension in the front makes the bike look elegant to me.

Honda Hornet 2.0 User review

Pros of Honda Hornet 2.0:

  • The Honda Hornet 2.0 features a built-in PGM-FI system that optimizes engine performance according to the rider’s needs. Having previously owned a Suzuki Gixxer 150, I found the Hornet 2.0’s ready pickup to be superior in comparison.
  • The front single-channel ABS, along with wider tires, gave me confidence while riding this bike both on the Highway and in the city.
  • Despite being an 184CC bike, I had an average mileage of around 45+ in the city ride, which was more than satisfactory to me.
  • The exhaust notes in lower RPM felt smooth and during the higher RPM ride it felt aggressive.
  • Honda Hornet previously had a massive amount of complaints from their users about chain sound issues. However, during my two months of use, I haven’t faced that particular issue yet.
  • As compared to Gixxer 150, the clutch of this bike is extremely soft and comfortable to operate for a longer period.
  • Additionally, I believe the price of my Honda Hornet 2.0 justifies itself. I bought this bike for 2,89,000 BDT and the amount of features this bike offers along with its aggressive looks justifies the entire amount spent for this beautiful machine.

Cons of Honda Hornet 2.0

  • The Honda Hornet 2.0 comes with an air-cooled engine. As a result, during the city ride while sitting in the jam, you can feel the engine heat. Especially, if it is a typical summer day and you went on a highway ride engine heating issues will cause you problems. Therefore, an oil-cooled engine or a liquid-cooled engine would have been better.
  • As I have already mentioned it has a single-channel ABS in the front, which gives you enough confidence while breaking this bike at a high speed. But I feel dual channel ABS would have been a better option and it would have added an extra bit of confidence while riding this bike.
  • The pillion seat might be slightly uncomfortable for long rides, but it feels adequate for city rides.

Engine oil that I have used in my Honda Hornet 2.0

I have previously used the Mobil 10w 40 Mineral on my Gixxer 150. As a result of that, I chose to go with Mobil 10w 30 Mineral for my Honda Hornet 2.0 as well. As expected, Mobil 10w 40 has been performing well for this bike as well. I had a smooth riding and gear-shifting experience. Also to mention, Mobil 10w 30 Mineral helps to minimize the engine heat as well. Therefore, I believe it is a good option that others can go for as well.
